Basic Parts of a Computer


A computer has some basic parts, which have different roles and they play an important role in computing.

Computer Case


A computer case is a metal and plastic box that contains the main components of the computer, including the motherboard, central processing unit (CPU), hard drive, and power supply unit. The computer case usually has an on / off button and optical drive on the front. Computer cases come in different shapes and sizes.


                                                              Monitor:



The monitor works with a video card inside the computer case and displays text, images, and video on the screen. Monitor’s LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) and LED (Light-Emitting Diode) are of type. Older monitors were CRT (Cathode Ray Tube) which are no longer used. Some monitors also have built-in speakers.

Keyboard


Although there are many types of input devices, the keyboard is the most commonly used input device in any computer in the Windows operating system. Keyboards are one of the main ways to communicate with a computer.
There are many different types of keyboards, such as Standard, Multimedia, Portable and Fordable.

Mouse:


 Mouse is also an important tool for communicating with computers. Commonly known as a pointing device, it is used to point objects on the screen, click on them, and move them.
There are three main types of mouse: optical, mechanical and wireless. The mechanical's are now old type.

Peripherals You Can Connect To Your Computer:


With a computer you plug in a variety of devices. Where do these peripherals go? Let's take a look at some of the most common peripherals.

Printers:



Printers are output devices that we use to print documents, photos or anything. Dot-Matrix Printers, Daisy-wheel printers, Line printers, Drum printers, Ink-jet printers, Laser printers, Multi function Printers, etc. are the types of printers.

Scanner:


Scanners are input devices. You can save them in PC by scanning images or documents.
Flatbed, sheet-fed, handheld, and Drum scanners are scanner types.

Speakers / Headphones:


Speakers and headphones are output devices. With them you can hear the sound playing in the computer.

 Microphones:


A microphone is the type of an input device. You can connect a microphone to a computer to record your sound or talk with someone. Many laptops come with internal microphones.

Web Cameras:


A web camera or webcam is an input device that can record video and capture images. They are used for recording video in real time or for video chat or video conferencing.
